Ranked in the World for Protection Dogs
1.5-Year-Old Belgian Malinois • Imported from France • French Ring Trained • Social & Family Raised
Venom is an impressive 1.5-year-old Belgian Malinois imported from France and trained in French Ring, a demanding protection-dog sport that requires athleticism, confidence, obedience, control, and a strong desire to work. Despite his young age, Venom already demonstrates an excellent combination of working ability, environmental confidence, and social temperament.
What makes Venom especially appealing as a potential family protection dog is the environment in which he was raised. Venom didn’t grow up isolated in a kennel with limited exposure to normal family life. He was raised around children ages 8 and 10, giving him valuable experience living around the movement, activity, sounds, and everyday routines that come with children in the home.
Venom was also raised around other dogs and a cat, providing him with the type of early social exposure that is extremely important when evaluating a dog for placement into a family environment.
Social, Confident & Approachable
Venom is a naturally social dog who enjoys interacting with people. For a Scott’s K9 family protection dog, protection ability is only one part of what we evaluate. A dog must also be capable of functioning appropriately during normal daily life.
The overwhelming majority of a family protection dog’s life isn’t spent doing protection work. It’s spent living with its family—relaxing in the home, traveling in the vehicle, going into public, interacting with family members, and being present when guests or other approved individuals are around.
That balance is extremely important.
Venom’s upbringing around children, dogs, a cat, and everyday family activity has provided him with a strong foundation for making that transition.
French Ring Training
Venom comes to us from France with experience in French Ring training.
French Ring is known for testing much more than a dog’s willingness to engage a threat. Dogs must demonstrate obedience, athletic ability, confidence, environmental stability, and the ability to work while remaining responsive to the handler.
For a family protection dog, we want the same basic principle: power when it’s needed and control when it isn’t.
Venom has the drive and working genetics expected from a quality Belgian Malinois, while his training gives us an excellent foundation from which to continue developing the obedience, control, and protection work required by Scott’s K9.
Built for Real Life
At Scott’s K9, we aren’t looking for dogs that simply look impressive during a protection demonstration.
Our dogs must be able to live in the real world.
That means transitioning from protection work back into obedience. It means understanding when they’re working and when they’re simply part of the family. It means being capable of settling down in the home while still possessing the confidence and ability required of a legitimate protection dog.
Venom’s combination of French Ring training and extensive social upbringing gives him many of the qualities we look for when selecting a young dog for our program.
The Belgian Malinois
The Belgian Malinois is one of the world’s premier working breeds. They are widely respected for their intelligence, athleticism, speed, trainability, and commitment to their handler.
The breed isn’t appropriate for every household, which is why temperament and individual personality matter far more to us than breed alone.
Venom’s social personality and experience growing up around a family distinguish him from a Malinois that has spent its entire life exclusively in a working or kennel environment.
Continuing His Training at Scott’s K9
Venom will continue developing through the Scott’s K9 training program, where our focus is on creating practical obedience and controlled protection that can actually be used in everyday life.
Our goal isn’t to create unnecessary aggression. It is to develop a dog capable of living calmly with its family while possessing the training and confidence to respond appropriately when called upon.
Venom’s foundation gives us an exciting young dog to continue developing.
With his French Ring background, social temperament, family upbringing, exposure to children and other animals, and natural working ability, Venom offers a combination that can be difficult to find in a young Belgian Malinois.
For the right family, Venom has the potential to provide the companionship people want from their dog combined with the presence, training, and protection capability expected from a Scott’s K9 family protection dog.
