The specific details of your protection dog’s training will be customized to your security needs and your lifestyle. However, each protection dog at Scott’s K9 undergoes extensive training under the guidance of Master Trainer Steve Scott so that they can detect, assess, and act on threats as necessary. Only 1-3 dogs are trained at a time to meet the highest standards, surpassing even military and police K9s in protection skills. This training method has been tested and proven effective in a variety of real-world situations. Our training also includes one-on-one testing with children from a young age.

In addition to their protection training, our dogs are specifically trained to be loving family companions. Every Scott’s K9 protection dog spends the final phase of their training time in our own homes. Here, they learn how to interact with children, adults, and other pets in a busy family household. Our dogs learn to be gentle and patient with your family so that you feel confident integrating a family protection dog into your home. We also conduct a 2-day handler course with every member of the family, including children, to ensure that the whole family feels equipped to handle your new protection dog comfortably.
